Overview
A buffer tank temporarily stores water between the heat source and the installation in a heating system. It collects hot water from a heat pump or solid-fuel boiler and delivers it to the circuit in a balanced way. Omega buffer tanks are made in 14 sizes from 50 to 5,000 liters, high-insulated, at our facility in İzmir Kemalpaşa with CE, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and TSE certificates.
A buffer tank prevents the heat source from switching on and off too frequently (short cycling), stabilizing the system and improving efficiency. This matters especially in heat pump and solid-fuel boiler systems, which may otherwise cycle constantly as demand changes. The buffer tank breaks this cycle for steadier operation.

Buffer Tank Prices
Buffer tank prices vary by model and capacity. As of July 2026, 100-liter models start around 10,000 TL on the market, while models around 300 liters can reach about 30,000 TL. Larger and industrial capacities are priced per project; we offer below-retail pricing on wholesale and project orders.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a buffer tank?
A buffer tank temporarily stores water between the heat source and the installation in a heating system. Omega buffer tanks are made in 14 sizes from 50 to 5,000 liters, high-insulated.
What does a buffer tank do?
Especially in heat pump and solid-fuel boiler systems, it prevents the heat source from switching on and off too frequently. This improves efficiency, extends equipment life, and stores surplus heat for balanced delivery.
What is the difference between a buffer tank and an accumulation tank?
A buffer tank holds the heating circuit (closed-loop) water and needs no inner coating. An accumulation tank stores domestic hot water, so it is made with enamel coating and cathodic protection. See our blog for a detailed comparison.
How is the right buffer tank capacity determined?
Buffer tank capacity depends on the heat source power and system type. For an exact size, we recommend contacting Omega Boyler with your project details.
