Overview
A double-coil water heater has two separate coils (heat exchangers), so it can connect to two different heat sources at once. Omega double-coil water heaters are made from 160 to 5,000 liters, protected against corrosion with enamel inner coating and cathodic protection (anode rod), and rated energy class B. The most common use is combining a solar collector with a combi or boiler in a single tank.
The purpose of a double-coil water heater is to combine two heat sources in one tank for uninterrupted domestic hot water. In a typical setup the lower coil connects to the solar collector and the upper coil to the combi or boiler. When the sun provides enough heat the water is heated by solar; when it falls short, the combi steps in to bring the water to the target temperature.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is a double-coil water heater?
A double-coil water heater connects to two heat sources at once thanks to two separate coils (heat exchangers). Made from 160 to 5,000 liters, with enamel inner coating, cathodic protection and energy class B.
What does a double-coil water heater do and where is it used?
It combines a solar collector with a combi or boiler in one tank for uninterrupted hot water: solar when available, combi when not. Used in homes and villas with solar plus combi, in apartments and complexes on central systems, and in hotels and facilities needing high capacity.
What is the difference between a double-coil and a single-coil water heater?
A single-coil unit connects one heat source; a double-coil unit connects two (for example solar and combi) to the same tank for combined use. Projects planning to add solar now or later prefer double-coil.
How is a double-coil water heater connected?
The lower coil usually connects to the solar collector circuit and the upper coil to the combi or boiler circuit. The solar collector raises the water temperature first, and where it falls short the upper coil brings the water to the target temperature. Exact connection points and pipe diameters vary by capacity and are confirmed per project with our technical team.
